The STCW Basic Safety Training course is the legal minimum requirement for anyone looking for commercial work on board vessels over 24 meters. In accordance with the STCW Code A-VI/1, the STCW Basic Safety Training course provides the basic safety training and knowledge required to work on any vessel over 24m.

The STCW Basic Safety Training courses include:
STCW Personal Survival Techniques (STCW A-VI/1-1) This module covers the essential sea survival training needed to deal with a range of emergency situations. It includes the launch of a life raft, using safety equipment, preparation for sea survival and use of search and rescue organisations.
STCW Elementary First Aid (STCW A-VI/1-3) This module is a mixture of theory and practical sessions giving you essential knowledge on how to respond to the most common emergencies on board including burns and scalds, broken bones, bleeding and shock. You will learn CPR, different bandaging methods, how to move a patient and how to improvise when there is no equipment available.
STCW Personal Safety and Social Responsibility (STCW A-VI/1-4) this module is an introduction to accident prevention and safety procedures including alarms and signals. It also covers your rights at work, employment conditions and work practices such as safe working, pollution prevention and relations with others on board.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: There are no specific entry standards, other than those required for entry to the industry.
Note that there are practical elements on certain training modules that contain some physically demanding exercises. Any candidate unsure of their health and fitness as to their ability to participate in such activities should consult their doctor.

STCW’95 PSSR is one of the four compulsory modules required for employment on all commercial vessels, fishing boats and ‘super yachts’ over 24 metres in length.
This course allows students to access the skills and expertise that we have acquired from years of operational experience in maritime operational tasks and delivering training on the subject matter. Our course exceeds industry requirements and has opportunities to talk with experienced maritime personnel. All training aids, equipment and hand-outs are provided.

Proficiency in Designated Security Duties (PDSD) training is carried out by MCA accredited trainers with the highest levels of maritime security experience so when students come to us for maritime security training of any kind they can be sure they are getting the best in the industry.
COURSE OVERVIEW:
The STCW Convention and Code as amended by the Manila amendments (2010) contains new requirements regarding security training. This training is required by all personnel employed or engaged on board ships to which the ISPS Code applies. These Regulations came into force on 1 January 2012. Training in Proficiency in Designated Security Duties (PDSD) must be undertaken by all seafarers & security personnel engaged on ship who have designated duties under the ships security plan.
'Those carrying out personal close protection and/or ship protection duties on ISPS Code compliant ships do not need to hold SSO qualifications unless they are the designated SSO on the vessel in which they are serving. However, as they will be carrying out ships security duties they will have to hold an MCA approved or recognised Certificate of Proficiency in Designated Security Duties.'
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
All seafarers and security personnel who have designated security duties under the Ships Security Plan, including anti-piracy and anti-armed robbery related activities.
Former armed forces personnel looking to move into maritime security who will need this knowledge and certification as a requirement of their position. Also those with a Maritime background looking to work in Ship/Offshore Security.

An STCW approved certificate (MCA) in Proficiency in Dedicated Security Duties will be issued upon successful completion of the course.
Course Overview:
The MCA Approved Engine Course (30 hour) is aimed at giving a wide and general appreciation of basic marine diesel mechanics and electrics. The course is the first level qualification for the MCA Engineering Officer training programme. It is seen as the first rung on the engineering ladder for those with no formal marine engineering experience and is an ideal introduction for those who wish to improve and enhance their employment prospects in the various aspects of the maritime industry e.g.
